STATE SENATE CANDIDATE ANNOUNCES NO-TAX PLEDGE

SPRINGFIELD, IL –Eric M. Wallace, candidate for the Illinois State Senate in the40th District, announced today their pledge not to support the Governor’s threatened income tax increase on Illinois’ hard-working families should his graduated income tax hike fail to be approved by voters this November.

Wallace’s pledge to protect taxpayers comes after Democratic Lt. Governor Stratton announced that Illinois families, many who are already suffering economically by the COVID-19 crisis, would face a 20 percent income tax increase unless they voted for the Democrat’s graduated income tax scheme.

“I pledge to stand up for our families in refusing to support the Pritzker administration’s threatened income tax increase,” said Wallace. “I would also call on my opponent to do the same.  We need to start living within our means and stop putting the financial burden our state faces on the backs of taxpayers.”
